Philosophy / Mission Statement: 

The Prescuola Italiana was borne out of a community effort to encourage the learning of a second language as early as possible while also gaining important knowledge for Kindergarten.  In this regard, our mission is for the children to feel comfortable hearing Italian and, as a result will be able to respond in kind in different ways (verbal, physical movement, drawing). On a cultural level, that the children connect to Italy not only in a traditional sense, but also learning about present-day Italy via stories, connection to teachers, and other media.

Program Highlights:         

Teachers at the Italian Preschool speak native to near-native Italian and have extensive experience working with preschool aged children.

There is a 3-day and 5-day program, Monday-Friday, from 9am-12noon.

All activities are undertaken within the Italian language, principally ( English spoken when children have trouble understanding) and learning takes places in an activity and/or play context.

Fieldtrips, included in preschool fees are also conducted in Italian and related to lessons done in class.
