Philosophy / Mission Statement:
Being a mother of two young children I know the importance not only to parents but to our children to have the feeling that they belong. My children were in daycare for the first years of their lives so I have a very clear understanding and empathy for those who need care outside of their homes.
My home is a safe and welcoming place for children before and after their school day. Every child will be treated with respect in a warm and friendly atmosphere. I believe from this children will learn to respect the things around them. Whether it be toys, their own personal belongings, or each other.
The rules I have are simple, consistent and easy to follow. Encouraging the growth of a child's self esteem is paramount. I do not and will not use any forms of physical punishment. If a child has a problem with another child I will encourage them to discuss their feelings. We will discuss the situation together. Children develop and learn through life experiences, group interactions and play.
Before and After care is really a short period of time so it is my goal to make it as stress free and positive as I can mixed with fun. There is plenty of room where the children can play together or have quiet time on their own. Children are free to independently choose their choice of books, toys, games, etc. The children can feel secure in knowing what to expect through the consistency of each day they are in care.
Every child will be welcomed into my home with a smile and assurance that I know and understand that each child has their own individual unique style and I can offer them the appropriate guidance to fit that.
My care services are for two children along with my own two children (who will be 2 and 5 years old).
If any problems or
difficulties should arise, I will discuss them with the parents when they
happen. Clear and open communication - the key to a happy healthy relationship
between myself and parents.
Program Highlights:
My care services are for two children along with my own two children (who will be 2 and 5 years old). I will be walking to and from the school on each school day along with my son who will be starting kindergarten in 2012.
My home is a short walking distance to Ray Shepard School. I will provide a light nutritional breakfast for your child, if needed. As well as nutritional snacks after the school day.
SCHOOL HOURS 8:36am to 2:35pm
Drop off at my house from 7am to 8am (Walking to school starts at 8am sharp) (earlier times for drop off or later pick up may be considered)
Pick up children at 2:35pm to walk back to my house (a visit to the school playground before we walk is a possibility depending on the weather)
Children pick up to 6pm
Operating dates will mirror the school schedule with the exception of the first and last day of school. (I am open to exceptions) In the case of Kindergarten children, the first week of Kindergarten parents should be prepared to have this time off with their children as they adapt to the next step in their lives.
