Philosophy/ Mission Statement:
We hope that your child will enjoy our program and learn and
grow while he/she is here. Your involvement in your child's experience with us
is always welcome. We encourage open communication with families and hope that
you feel free to ask questions and to voice any concerns that you may have. The
children are our priority and the staff is always happy to listen and assist you
with any inquiries that you may have.
We believe that play is the basic medium for learning. Play
is developmental and provides the child with experiences and chances to react to
the world and to see how the world reacts to them. It is our goal for the
children to develop socially, physically, cognitively and emotionally. This will
help your child to develop acceptable behavior, self-control, self-confidence
and compassion toward others.
It is our intention that the children will develop the skills
that they will need to be competent in today's world. We value children's
individuality and respect their differences. Each and every child deserves love,
nurturing, safety and respect in their day-to-day surroundings. Our educators
create an environment in which each child can grow and develop at their own
rate.
We encourage children to be independent. Each child is
encouraged to behave responsibly. Children are not asked to do anything of which
they are not yet capable. We look at each child as an individual and encourage
him/her to do as much as they can. The children put away their toys, pack-up
their lunches and pack-up their mats and blankets. We promote self-sufficiency
amongst the children while providing assistance to them when needed or
requested.
Center Features:
Indoor waiting area, snack / meal area, nap / quiet room,
reading area / library, Leap pad computer terminals, onsite and offsite outdoor
play areas / playgrounds.
Description/ Program Highlights:
Infant/Toddler: Our program is set up and designed
around monthly themes. With these themes children can learn and explore through
music and movement, creative art, literature and outdoor play. The program is
flexible and designed to meet the changing needs of the children.
3-5 Year Olds: The program is planned in weekly themes that
bridge together for ongoing developmental learning. Each theme will include art,
science, math, social studies, dramatic play, music and baking activities as
well as circle activities. Circle may include small science experiments, finger
plays, stories, games, group discussions and music and movement.
Along with our theme based program we incorporate an
anti-bullying program called "Safe Spaces". This is ongoing in both
programs.
