Philosophy / Mission Statement:
This Day Care's goal is to offer a caring, friendly, safe atmosphere for the
child while parents are at work. We strive to stimulate self worth, self
confidence, responsibility for actions. Learning through stories, imaginative
play, crafts, games, interactions with children and adults - inside and out -
encourage understanding of their feelings. Independence is encouraged and
helping with tidy up and coat hanging and assisting other children in different
situations are all ways in which all children enjoy showing their abilities and
compassion.
Staff show enthusiasm for children's triumphs successfully
- completing a task, helping another child without being asked, comforting
a sad child etc. Time is taken to listen to a child's stories or worries and
often is very important to the child. "Play" is a child's
"work". Through play they learn to the ways of daily life - sharing,
planning, experimenting, finding friendships, decisions and difficulties to
fact.
Children learn by watching others and see the consequences
brought about through their play and experiences.
