Philosophy / Mission
Statement:
Little Saints Learning Center accepts each child as an
unique individual with rights to respect and care in a safe, warm and nurturing
environment. Our mission is to provide quality Early Childhood Education,
which leads to a strong foundation of faith: faith in themselves, each other,
their families, their communities and in their higher power.
We believe children should have stimulating experiences to
foster optimum physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth.
These experiences should be child centered, developmentally appropriate, and
flexible offering a balance of structured and unstructured activities towards
the development of independence, self-control, respect of self as well as others
and cooperation.
We also believe that children learn through active
exploration and therefore need a safe but challenging environment. They
need encouragement and guidance to be self-directing and to develop a desire to
learn. Limits are set to enable development of self-control. If
discipline is necessary it is done in a positive and objective manner.
We believe Early Childhood Educators are trained and
knowledgeable in child development and should provide a caring, friendly
atmosphere for children to develop and enjoy what they are doing. Staff
will continue to upgrade their education in order to provide the utmost care for
your children.
Little Saints Learning Center believes that parents/guardians
are the most important people in their child(ren)’s world. You are
deserving of respect and welcome at the center. We encourage you to become
involved in your child(ren)’s daily activities by offering suggestions and
ideas, volunteering for various Board roles or joining us on field trips and
special events. It is all of our responsibility: parents/guardians,
Director and staff to ensure consistency between the home and the center.
Center Features: We focus on the development of
the whole child: physical, social , emotional, cognitive and spiritual
(according to the child's family's beliefs).
