Philosophy / Mission Statement:
The aim at Scribbles is to provide families with a service that will promote the well being of children by meeting all of their physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. I believe that children learn through many different ways and it is my goal to ensure that the centre offers a variety of activities that will meet the individual needs of each child. These activities increase your child’s knowledge, help them develop socially and increase self-esteem. I believe that building self-esteem and confidence in children is of the utmost importance as it helps them develop their own sense of self-worth. Each child at Scribbles is treated as an individual and all expectations are matched to their level of development. It is my goal to ensure that your child is made to feel loved and cared for and that their experience in my centre is a positive one.

Program Highlights:
My program is set up as an emergent curriculum. I believe that children learn best through play and interacting with other children. The children are given lots of time during the day to do a variety of different activities. These include the art table, the craft table, blocks, dress-up/role playing, reading etc. I also have structured activities for the children to enjoy as well. These include circle/story time, music and movement, snack time and outdoor playtime. I am a strong believer that children should be given the opportunity to go outside daily unless the weather prohibits this. Outdoor play is an excellent way for children to develop their large motor skills by riding tricycles, swinging, running, etc. It is also very important for them to have some fresh air breathing!

Centre Features:

Snack / meal area, nap /quiet room, reading room / library, computer terminals, onsite outdoor play area.
